Team members across sectors are often called upon to give opinions, analyze facts, and offer advice in an effort to solve problems, achieve business goals and ultimately maximize productivity.

This one-day workshop provides a platform to:

• Gain insight into your own thinking
• Contribute to decision-making in an objective, disciplined manner using accurate English
• Discover how to challenge the assumptions and biases that influence the thinking of others using diplomatic language.

Participants are provided with the “language tools” necessary to contribute in an effective manner

• Expressing opinions and backing up arguments
• Weighing up advantages and disadvantages
• Questioning and active listening
• Making suggestions, brainstorming and idea generation

Method

Input – Performance – Feedback

The workshop is interactive and thought-provoking. Structured language input is followed by a range of scenarios that require critical and creative thinking skills. Mini-case studies, TED Talk video clips, facts and figures, and business dilemmas are presented for discussion purposes.
Feedback on critical thinking skills and use of language is given by the trainer.
